If you’re a cheese lover and haven’t yet tried Kentish Blue, then here are some reasons to do so!
Kentish Blue is handmade in Staplehurst in the heart of Kent. The family run dairy use only milk from their own herd of pedigree Holstein Friesian cows and is handmade in the traditional way, with vegetarian rennet. They turn it regularly to allow even distribution of moisture and blue veining. It is pierced by hand to allow the blue to develop and then matured for around three months.
Kentish Blue is an unpasteurised blue cheese and the dairy farmers have complete control over the whole milking and cheesemaking processes and therefore total traceability from pasture to plate.
This cheese is creamy and mellow, with long lasting flavours.
Wonderful just eaten with our Toast for Cheese biscuits with Poppy’s, Linseed & Almonds and just as lovely crumbled over a watercress and beetroot salad.
